The Wastelands is a part of the Commonwealth in the game New Vegas. It's location can be found in the southwest part of the Nevada map. When the Courier approaches this location, they'll be greeted by an irradiated wasteland filled with dead raider and NCR soldiers, as well as some brand new creatures. After killing all the soldiers, you have the chance to go further into the Wasteland, and this leads the Courier right into HEL.

All in all, the game play is much more smooth and realistic now, which makes it worth playing for anyone who liked the original version.
